Music therapy provides healing aid for patients in Jamnagar

A government hospital in Jamnagar has adopted an unconventional method of playing therapeutic music at bedsides of the patients for their speedy recovery and rehabilitation.

This music therapy is being used in the government hospital extensively, by playing Hindi devotional songs from time to time.

According to a patient, the devotional songs that are played in the hospital do wonders to them and they feel that good and positive thoughts enter their mind.The music that is played in the hospital is very beneficial for us. We listen to the music and feel relaxed and forget our pains and sorrows,"

The therapeutic value of the action is overwhelming and the doctors say that after listening to the music, the patients immediately feel better and respond well to the treatment.

INS Valsura at Jamnagar conducted an Open Half Marathon (21 km) and a 10.5 km run on Sunday as part of the Navy Week celebrations. More than 1,200 participants took part in the event. The race was flagged off from the ‘Raksha Shakti Sthal’ at Lakhota Lake by Mayor Kanaksinh Jadeja and en, ded at the INS Valsura Sports Stadium.

Jamnagar Bank peon held for forgery

A Bank of India (BOI) peon working was nabbed in connection to a year-old fraud theft of Rs 3.25 lakh.
The arrest was made recently when police was intimated of forgery worth Rs 3.25 lakh from a local businessman account from Udyognagar branch. The forged signature plan was idea of the peon.

Richard Orange, a journalist working on a book on dhows' in Salaya town of Jamnagar district, was in for a shock when intelligence bureau

sleuths visited his house recently. Orange was even more shocked when he came to know what they had come snooping for. The sleuths, on a tip-off from a local, were checking whether he was Richard Headley, David Headley's brother.

Salaya was once known as "smugglers' village". Today it's full of informers'. As one enters the village, one can find men sitting in market corners reading newspapers and discussing latest happenings.

When these villagers saw a European chatting with locals, asking questions about ships, dhows (a country craft), sailing techniques, and most importantly how it is constructed, they became more curious.

Jamnagar : Okha-Howrah Train Flagged off with funfare on sunday

JAMNAGAR: Okha port of Jamnagar district was allotted a long distance rail service. It was connected to Howrah via Okha-Howrah Link Express. The service was flagged off with fanfare on Sunday.

The train no 2905A/2906A Okha Hapa Howrah Link Express will be linked to the existing train no 2905/2906 respectively.

The train no 2905A will leave from Okha three days a week Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 5.05 am and reach Hapa at 8.52 am and Howrah on the third day at 3.35 pm. Train 2906A will leave Howrah every Friday, Saturday and Tuesday at 10.55 pm and reach Hapa at 3 pm and Okha at 7.50 pm on the third day.

This train will pass by Dwarka, Khambhaliya, Jamnager and Hapa. It will have one AC coach, two sleeper coaches and one general coach.
